We've got some great programs planned for this year including a special workshop with our visiting guest artist, Rodney Clemmons on Dwarf Hinoki Cypress. We also managed to find some outstanding Japanese Arakawa Cork Bark Maples and some excellent Mikawa Japanese Black Pines. Click on Rodney's photo or the link above for full details.
The Bonsai Learning Center offers a regular schedule of beginner, intermediate and advanced educational programs. The Center is owned and operated by Randy Clark, an internationally recognized bonsai artist and teacher with more than a quarter century of experience.
June 21 and 22, 2008

The Bonsai Learning Center's Summertime Picnic and Open House for 2008 is set for Saturday and Sunday, June 21 and 22. We hope you will be able to join us for our big garden party. This year's guest artist is Rodney Clemmons from Atlanta, Ga. He will be doing demonstrations on both Saturday and Sunday. Both demos are free and open to the public. In addition, the weekend's activities will again feature a special exhibition of the BLC's student works. This will be the third year for our students to show you what they can do. Don't miss it. As always, we will be offering great discounts on our pre-bonsai, finished bonsai, tools, soils, books and other supplies. And of course no picnic would be complete without a plentiful supply of free hot dogs, chips, baked beans, cold slaw and peach tea. Its our big blow out of the season and we hope you can join us. We've made several additions to the garden including a brand new "tea house." If you would like to see some photos of last year's festivities, you can click on this link. Mark your calendars NOW and plan to stop by and share a little bonsai hospitality with your friends at the Bonsai Learning Center.

Would You
Like To See Some Of Our Bonsai?
We have prepared a special page which contains formal studio photographs of some of the bonsai in the personal collection of our instructor and teacher, Randy Clark. This Japanese Garden Juniper (Juniperus procumbens) show here is a good example. It is one of the trees which appears in Mr. Clark's book Outstanding American Bonsai and was obtained as a foundation planting about 20 years ago and has been in training as a bonsai for about the same length of time. The tree measurers about 17 inches in height and is planted in a brown tokoname ware pot with a dragon motif which complements the sinuous movement of the junipers trunk. Click here to see more of the trees in our collection.
